Age of Conan Tempest of Set Atomik's Builds.. first level 80 in the world.
by Atomik on US forums.
Ok, so I've been getting overloaded with PMs to the point of no return. I simply can't answer all of the PMs any longer as it's becoming a second job. Therefore, I have decided to post a few builds and briefly go over their strengths and cons. Hopefully, this will be of help to you all!
My personal leveling build:
http://feats.goonheim.com/tempestofset/2360
This was my build that enabled me to get to 80 fast. It had great mana regen, so that was never an issue. HoT up, put up storm crown (doesn't tick until the 5th second for the first time) and then pull the pack. Once the pack is on you, throw up storm field (provided the mobs don't stun/knockback, in which case you need to get this up beforehand to avoid wasting time). You have elemental fury which helps add a little pbae dmg as well as column lightning which is fantastic to nail the hardest mob and put them in par with the others. The key is to fight like level mobs or higher to get the "chain kills." You get roughly 300-400 more exp per chain killed mob, which adds up quickly. I was able to tear through mobs with great efficiency and without exploiting totems or w/e else others were doing.
Negatives: Poor CC (lack of visions of hatred, brain spasms). Poor survivability/sustainability: lack of Set's life spark to rez and be right back in the fray, no serpent transmutation for 5 sec of invuln when needed.
Overall, great leveling build, poor pvp/pve build at 80.
Build #2
Max DPS, mobile pvp build (great for soloing, back line fighting)
http://feats.goonheim.com/tempestofset/2377
This build has all the magical bonuses with a lightning strike focus. Plus you have the CC from visions of hatred to enable a quick overcharge, vengeance of the gods, 1,2 punch. I like this build, but fear it will have problems with regen in prolonged battles as well as major problems when getting focus fired on. A big plus with it is that you will have a big insta heal which can help you during those clutch moments.
Build #3
Great survivability, decent dps, good support role.
http://feats.goonheim.com/tempestofset/2391
This build has some of the best survivability that you could ask for: serpent transmutation, maxed out feat resists, good mana regen. It also has triumphant life of set which IMO is currently broken. It heals your group members and hits pretty darn hard (also drawing alot more agro on yourself).
Build #4
PvE build, reducing agro (as temptest draw quite a bit of agro), great heals and support.
http://feats.goonheim.com/tempestofset/2396
This build has all the goodies for PvE. Reduced agro (shroud of gods to get rid of that unwanted agro from healing/dmg), better healing in terms of spread/regen, good survivability (serpent transmutation), set's life spark to rez yourself if a pull goes bad, + triumphant life of set to help with dmg as you're healing your group.
Build #5
My current build - work in progress
In conclusion, you may notice that I don't use cyclone of set in any of the builds because I don't think the points warrant the use of it. Sure, you can have 3 cyclones that do some dmg, but at the cost of 11 important points that could be better utilized elsewhere. Also, Aura of Nebthu is pretty useless atm as it only provides a minimal pulsing pbae. Puppets of set only works in PvE from the testing that I have done. This might prove useful later on in PvE encounters where you could charm an add when fighting a boss to help with the fight. I guess we shall see on that one. I will continue editing this thread as I conduct more tests and see how things work out in PvP and PvE situations.
